Think Har-Bal's been used.
I use it sometimes to get my tracks more in line with an example track.

Exactly. A label shouldn't say your tracks are mastered if they only apply a limiter. The other thing is that my track sounds totally different from what I intended. Release is in 6 days, so I won't be pulling the release. But next time I will pay for it myself. Or give it my best shot in mastering,...

If I knew this earlier, I'd have paid for this myself. But most labels claim on their websites they want to master it themself. I could have done a better job myself. Think only the bigger labels actually have their own ME. The rest only slap a limiter on it... Next time I'm asking them who's doing ...

Thanks for all comments. In fact, the track was mastered by the label. I just sent over the tracks to them unmastered. Was nothing on the master. And kept a bit more then 3dB headroom. If I'd paid for this, I definetely sent it back. Cause the round kick in my original is sounding so much better tha...

Not that satisfied with the end result of the track that gets released. Masters don't sound that good to me. Especially with this particular track. Has a deep, round kick with not that much mid/top.
