I have read it's better to run your samples off an external drive for all Daws. Not the same drive in which your OS is. How much Ram do you have??? The best thing for drives to function correctly is empty "Space". Also, SSD drives do not need to be defragmented ever. Or the you may render it useless...

Just use one compressor and use it until you learn to use it well. Live's stock is
really all you need. Version 8's comp, I prefer for compressing my drums with. Although, I have clue to what D.A.W. you're using.

I've read they have terrible product support also. Why not support, Klanghelm or Hornet, to name some cheaper priced but good quality devs. stuff.
