Re: Generic Airwindows plugin thread / tips, recommendations etc

Try using the channel, on every channel. It is similar to what a lot of guys here say about Harrison mixbus. Subtle but seems to open up the mix a little while also gluing it together.

Re: Plug-in alternatives/workarounds (Mac ballache)

Hi, I would never suggest using any wrapper for plug ins. Even the Rosetta one from Apple is glitchy. Try https://klanghelm.com/contents/products/VUMT.html for mono at the desired frequency and much more. EQ is very subjective. The NI ones are actually pretty good as are Overloud, if you want analog...

Re: Chain Reaction sound

This may be a little too crusty and fetishising of the past for my taste, however the overall thing is great. I love the Audiority Echoes. It’s a echorec emulation and sounds fantastic. One of the best tape echo emulations for me. Feed that into U-he Satin and in the box, you can get a very worn tap...

Re: Where is dancemusic culture heading?

A little harsh from Voidloss, but yeah. I came from that 90’s scene and still have a ton of techno and hard trance vinyl. Haven’t heard much new stuff that touches it and yet I think we need to move forward. Nostalgia is great for what it is, not for creating anything new, however.

Re: Where is dancemusic culture heading?

I listened to that podcast and found it quite interesting, tbh the overall conclusion I drew from it and from my own experience of going out for 10-15 years is that the scene kinda seems to be splitting 2 ways lately: - big, festival-like events with lots of name DJs, that clubbers will probably sa...

Dreadbox Erebus II

As stated I am selling a Dreadbox Erebus Mk II. An absolutely lovely sounding synth. This is classic creamy analog. Bass, drones and bleeps are perfect. Not what I need right now, and sadly I don’t have the cash to keep it just for occasional use. It was B-Stock from Thomann so, despite being almost...

Will watch tonight, but just wanted to say thanks. A lot of nuggets of gold in the last one, so I have high hopes for this. Your effort is much appreciated.

Re: Where is dancemusic culture heading?

You can bake and sell the best bread in the world, but if everyone wants Tesco value sliced white, what can you do? Leave them to it. Eat your own. Simply young people seem to want something different, so the commercialisation is a reaction to that. The old choice rears it's head again. Make art, o...

Re: Where is dancemusic culture heading?

If I can just refer you to this thread: https://www.subsekt.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10501 I think you'll find some answers in there. Thanks Ben, I did and I didn’t. I agree with Steve, that RA has , as someone in the pod said, become a part of the problem. However, what this is primarily about is n...

Re: Where is dancemusic culture heading?

Winston, I I would totally disagree with your first post and totally agree with your second. Interesting. I would say from my years behind the decks, that men and women respond to slightly different tunes and any dj worth their salt knows this and mange’s this in their set. However, as you say, it i...

Where is dancemusic culture heading?

Hi guys & gals, I was just listening to this RA Podcast https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/ra-exchange/id395896252?i=1000444235013 I was kind of struck by the difference in attitude towards the scene between age groups. It was pointed out that music is no longer the main thing in clubs for young ...

Re: Novation supernova 2

Seems you don’t need this and have prob changed your mind. However, I wanted to say, I had one of these for years. It’s sound is not so different to a very good vst. What it offers is quick and excellent editing. It’s immediate and easy to get a good sound. It’s multi timbral as well. It was my work...

Re: Mini Guide: Dynamic consistency/Spectral Dynamics

Thanks for this. I would just say that something I have been focused on lately seems to be the basic solution here. Getting all your track elements in the right space before any processing. Mixing is quite easy then.
