Re: dark ambient live recording
I tried running your live mix through Vladg's Nova-67P using the "Multiband Hell" preset as a starting point. Some tweaks to the preset; Attack 1 ms and release 10 ms, master gain 0 dB, high overall compression ratio (10:1) with sidechain off and compression threshold set to zero. EQ the mids (380 ...

Re: dark ambient live recording
I'll admit I didn't listen to the whole thing in one shot but from flipping through it it sounds pretty cool! :) Just flipping through is definitely a big mistake when it comes to ambient music... ;) But great that you liked it anyway I tried running your live mix through Vladg's Nova-67P Sounds li...

Re: dark ambient live recording
a different mixdown, more sub and bass or presence in the lows in general. And a bit more vagueness in the medium, it sounds a bit metallic and too dry (shiny) for me. But it's a matter of tastes of course! It's an unmixed stereo recording coming directly out of the hardware. So unfortunately there...

Not sure if you guys are into ambient music.. It's quite experimental - curious to hear your opinions again.

Re: Bipolar Outflow
nice progression.. kept me moving through.. don't mind the static, but personally i would amp it down a bit.. so it's not a prominent. other than that.. like others said... make it longer.. felt like i was just into the meat of the track and it was coming to an end. good work overall.. Thanks for y...

Re: Bipolar Outflow
You could send it in again? 4 minutes is a bit short though, I'm a 1210's and a mixer type of guy and like an intro/outdo. PM me. I'll send it in again after I've made it longer. Today I've got plenty of time for that. Also it's easy to pick out where the background noise sample loops around, but t...

http://subsekt.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3970&start=140 The subject suggests that the deadline is the 28th of February 2015, so maybe be patient? :D Yeah.... I was referring to the first mixtape #2 attempt about - let me think - 10 or 20 years ago :D I would love to hear a really big long reverb at s...

Re: Cables for gigging.
I have these other cables, I've had them for years and years, they`ve been all over the world, indoor and outdoor parties, and they are still perfect, the connectors are great, they sound great, no wear. The only thing is that the markings have all worn off so I have no idea what brand they are. Th...

Re: Bipolar Outflow
I love to hear that you like it! Thanks for the feedback. So far I've been satisfied with the track's length but now that you mention it... I don't like breaks in this kind of music though.. Not the obvious ones. Maybe I could add a break-ish part or something. But making it longer is a good idea! W...

I've sent this track in for the subsekt mixtape#2 which has never appeared anywhere
So I decided to roughly re-master it and put it online.
Curious to hear about your opinions!

Re: Elektron RYTM user topic
i got a rytm.. but i think to re-sell it, to get the tempest good idea?? These two machines are commonly compared with each other. I think it depends on your personal taste. I've heard both - people who prefer the rytm and those who favour the tempest.. Why do you tend to sell your AR? Because of t...

Re: Cables for gigging.
For 1. and 2. I'd say: Order 5 cables of different manufacturers at thomann, keep the best and send back the rest. Neutrik plugs are always a good choice - they are used everywhere in the professional event business, they are easy to repair if broken (which rarely happens) and mostly used in combina...

Re: Elektron RYTM user topic
I noticed you have a Novation Remote of some sort on your site. You could use that. It can contain several different channels in different slots. You would need to download the Novation Remote editor and make a template. Duplicate it 12 times and then load it into the Novation. It should display th...

Re: Elektron RYTM user topic
What I'm wondering is, how you guys arrange using the rytm? Do you set up program changes in ableton or just jam in sync? That's the part where I'm a bit stuck... As I don't use DAWs at the moment (only for recording and rough mixing/mastering) I don't have to sync it. I just got one pattern per tr...
