Re: Mix Bus Compression Guide

sorry if this has already been mentioned somewhere but I couldn't find anything~ to understand how this fits within the overall mixing/mastering process, does the 'rhythmic' compressor used here replace the first compressor used in the mastering guide? or once you've mixed into it, do you print what...

Re: Netflix tips

recently watched the first series of True Detective, would recommend. dark and gritty, pretty addictive, nails that ominous vibe. also has some great music.

Re: Ableton Loop 2017

Yeah, their policy of full refunds up to 30 days prior to the event is a bit odd, I guess most people bought a ticket without fully intending to go. It's a bit of a risk for them from an organiser's perspective, but given that they announce the programme quite late I can understand that people might...

Ableton Loop 2017

Hey all, I've recently been given the opportunity to purchase a ticket to Loop. Re: jbl lsr308

Have LSR305s, very decent for the money and definitely preferable to Rokit 5's and the like. If you can afford it, you're better off spending more and getting something you could happily work with for the rest of your life: http://subsekt.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8314&start=40 You will be upgrading f...

Re: Headphone help

Pretty interesting: http://www.factmag.com/2017/10/03/nuraphone-review/ The XRs are awesome btw Void, thanks for the advice. Well impressed with the sound accuracy and the bass is nice and compact. Particularly surprised with how well they locate and separate panned sounds in the mix. I'm using them...

Re: Headphone help

I'm going to be travelling extensively next year and will take along a compact studio set-up (likely just laptop, X-key, 2i2, H4N). I'll be producing and mixing on headphones, and want to cut down on bulk wherever possible. I figured the ER4s would be a good solution - do the XRs over-emphasize bass...
