Re: Creating and Growing a Social Media Presence

Can't you make music for the love of making music while also wanting to be successful or can you only be motivated by one or the other? What's your answer to that? (Not interested in throwing it back at you - I wasted my moment of cuntizm for today already) I think it's absolutely possible to both ...

Re: Creating and Growing a Social Media Presence

I honestly didn't make this to start an argument and the reason I didn't bring up my own music because I didn't want this to be a topic about myself at all. I just figured I'd pose the question in general for everyone. I 100% agree music is first and foremost always, and I'm right there with the res...

Re: Creating and Growing a Social Media Presence

I see these kind of questions on Reddit all the time and it's fucking ridiculous. People that have been making music for six months trying to 'grow a fanbase'. You have 87 followers on Soundcloud dude. Why are you spending time thinking about managing your social media presence? It's just wasted en...

Creating and Growing a Social Media Presence

Anyone have any advice on creating and growing a social media presence? Right now all I have is a soundcloud with a relatively small number of followers and I'm thinking the next step is to get a facebook page and possibly twitter as well going to put myself out there more and be more professional. ...

Re: ACID ACID ACID

I don't use a ton of 303 sounds but I did buy FL's Transistor Bass on sale when it came out, anyone use both and can compare the two? I'm pretty happy with how transistor bass sounds but this definitely looks cool too.

Patrick Hughes - Gold Cat

Hey all,

Just finished up a new track and I'm pretty happy with it. Went for a more eerie and moving track with an acid sound. Let me know what you liked/hated. Thanks for listening,

Re: Extreme volume in clubs

I'd have to agree that the acoustics of the club itself play a huge roll. I can definitely tell how well planned out a club is the second you walk in. I personally love getting up close to a speaker and feeling the music but I definitely have been places that it's too piercing to want to do that too.

Re: Root . Wild Space

I liked the sound overall and it definitely has a nice moving sound. I agree the kick is missing the low end deep punch to it and I think the toms in the breakdown could go away. It might just be that they are a bit loud but I wasn't huge on the offbeat noise that starts at 1:27, I'd probably use a ...

Re: "How to send demos" by Steve O Sullivan (and me;)

Anyone have any tips on how to get a&r to actually play the demo you send them? I started sending demo's out exactly the way this article recommends (brief email, unique private soundcloud link, my best unreleased track, label matches my sound ect ect...) a few months ago and i'd say 95% of the priv...

Re: Why we do what we do, and why we sometimes cant.

1: While I do love to romanticize the creative process of producing music, and often find myself engaging in deep meta analysis of the deeper meanings of music, at the end of the day what it comes down to is I just want to make music that I really enjoy and other people like as well. 2: My goals fro...

Re: Building a new computer

Intel just announced their x series and its pretty much garbage with it's whole socket/thread problems and definitely not a good choice for future proofness. It's such a problem that many motherboard manufacturer's aren't supporting all of the cpu's across the lineup on top of the fact you'll pay a ...

Re: A subsekt remix competition?

Holy hell, some of you FINISHED already? I'll be working on mine for the full 17 days. I try to knock out at least 80-90% of a track in the first sitting and usually takes about 6-8 hours. It just feels better to stick with it while your on a roll. This one came together pretty easily so wasn't bad...

Well here's my shot at it. Didn't try to reinvent the wheel but thought this came out with a bit of a new take on the original.

Re: Concrete Island - Freeway

Cool song, I wasn't into the panning at first but as it developed I got more into the kind of disorienting sound of it. It sounds good as an intro and I would totally be ready for this to kick off into a full blown track around the 2 minute mark.

I just recently picked up reaktor6 and it's very powerful and can do all sorts of FM. They just recently released a new block set with some specific blocks for FM too.

Re: ekt - bad coffee

Awesome track, really groovy and kept building energy the whole track. I've always thought naming electronic music songs that have no lyrics is a pretty abstract process anyways, so I say screw it and just name it whatever the first words that come to the top of your head.

Re: Learning vs consuming / Millenials & music production

, it is a fact that millennials as a whole have driven the professional quality higher and risen the bar for electronic music as now there are more people than ever competing for the same number of limited "full time positions". If you are to claim facts you should probably provide some form of pro...
